Happy Easter
Happy Easter: Oh, It Is Wonderful
Every year we send letters in honor of the various holidays, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the like. Each holiday is special in its own way, but of them all, the one that means the most to me is Easter.
Nowadays, there are elements to Easter that everyone can participate in, regardless of who you are or what you believe. But the heart of Easter will always be this: that our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered, bled, and died for the redemption of our sins, and that he was resurrected so that we may live again, too. I’m so grateful for the knowledge that Christ will come again one day, for the knowledge that “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” As the Apostle Paul said, “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”
These are the things Easter stands for. This is why the holiday is so special to me.
There is a song written in the 19th century called “Oh, It Is Wonderful” by the composer Charles H. Gabriel that, to me, perfectly exemplifies the feelings that Easter brings.
I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,
Confused at the grace that so fully He proffers me;
I tremble to know that for me, He was crucified –
That for me, a sinner, He suffered, He bled, and died.
Oh, it is wonderful that He should care for me!
Enough to die for me!
Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me!
We wish you and yours a Happy Easter. Peace be unto you.
