Principal, Financial Advisor
Pete started working in the financial services business one week after graduating college in June of 1975. Early in his career, he realized that the key ingredient to this profession is SERVICE. Continue reading below to learn the rest of Pete's story.
It is said that “people don’t care what you know unless they know that you care.” I knew that I had found the perfect profession for me based on that knowledge.
After several years with large companies, I started my own business. I wanted to focus on building lasting relationships and working for my clients. In 1983, I attained a Chartered Financial Consultants designation.
I have been blessed to serve so many businesses and families for over forty years. I am so grateful that God has granted me the honor of working with so many wonderful people, especially our incredible staff. I love helping our clients solve problems, overcome financial challenges, and achieve their goals. Our clients truly become our friends.
Many of our clients meet with us every quarter. This keeps our clients updated on the financial world without having to worry on daily basis.

It is a privilege to work with my father every day and continue the legacy he has built for over forty years.
I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Finance in 2014. Following graduation, I had the opportunity to work for our Broker/Dealer, Kestra Investment Services, in Austin, Texas. I spent several years in the Brokerage Accounts Services department. I had the privilege to collaborate with financial advisors from around the country. I was able to gain valuable experience by learning the industry from the inside out. While at Kestra, I achieved my Series 7 - General Securities designation.
In 2017, I was accepted into the Master of Financial Planning and Counseling program at the University of Alabama. In January of 2018, I began working here at Peters Financial and achieved my master’s degree in May of 2019. I hold a Series 66 securities designation and my state license for Life and Health insurance.
My wife Anne “Annie” Heggeman Peters and I are natives of Mobile and parishioners of St. Ignatius Church. We are both graduates of St. Ignatius School, UMS-Wright, and the University of Alabama.I am a Registered Representative with Kestra Investment Services, LLC and an Investment Advisor Representative with Kestra Advisory Services, LLC.
Client Service Manager
Yvonne has an extensive background in customer service and hospitality management. For 16 years, she served as the Catering and Events Director at the Country Club of Mobile. While at the CCM, Yvonne led all marketing and promotional campaigns. She was also responsible for managing her staff and back-office administrative duties.
Yvonne is a University of Tennessee alumna, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Broadcasting. Yvonne has one son, Breen.
Senior Client Services Associate
Javier earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Spring Hill College and a Minor in Computer Information. Javier interned with several organizations. He was able to master the skills of data and tax form management, project planning, and analysis. He served as a Becker Campus Ambassador, adult ESL teacher, Risk Management Chair of Lambda Chi Alpha, and two-year ASCPA Scholar. As a member of Spring Hill College’s reserve soccer team, Javier enjoys playing sports and doing anything outdoors. Javier has two years of public accounting experience with a local Mobile firm.
Javier and his family moved from Monterrey, Mexico, to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to pursue successful careers in various fields. The firm’s caring environment is what attracted Javier, who says, “I was drawn to Peter’s Financial because of the respect they have towards their clients and willingness to help anyone in need.”
Client Services Associate
Carin has over thirty years of experience in Senior Client Relationship Management and Client Services including the financial industry and corporate security consulting. She specializes in fostering deep and long-standing client relationships that promote trust and teamwork. Carin began her investment career at Invesco, in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Participant Services Representative. She quickly moved into a role as a Retirement Plan Services Relationship Manager working with large national accounts. Most recently, Carin worked for a corporate security, investigative and intelligence firm, as Senior Consultant.
Carin has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University.
Taylor earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of South Alabama. While at South, Taylor served as the Risk Analyst and Operations Manager for the Jaguar Investment Fund. After graduation, Taylor went on to sell Life Insurance and gained valuable experience in client services and the insurance industry.
Taylor enjoys spending her free time with friends and family or out on the water. She also loves animals and has a miniature dapple dachshund named Bailey.
Operational / Marketing Specialist
Payton is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. After finishing undergrad, Payton returned home to Livingston, Alabama, where she earned her master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at the University of West Alabama. While pursuing her master’s, Payton began working for Legacy Hospice in Livingston. Legacy was so impressed by Payton’s marketing knowledge and work ethic she was brought on full-time after completing her degree. Payton was able to assist Legacy’s executive team with marketing and rebranding efforts, company-wide trainings, and community engagement events.
Payton has a passion for people and found deep satisfaction in working with the elderly community at Legacy. Payton enjoys going to the beach at Dauphin Island, and spending time with friends and family. We are excited to have Payton’s extensive marketing skillset and passion for customer service on the Peters Financial Team.
